The City of Roubaix
Since August 1999, Roubaix is equipped with a metro connected to the Lille European Metropolitan area’s transportation network, and has developed an energetic renovation and stimulation policy which allows the city to reconsider its exceptional and well-preserved heritage which illustrates the history of the industrial textile revolution. In December 2000, Roubaix was awarded the label “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire” – a city of art and history.
The City of Roubaix participates in a process to make culture available to all Roubaix residents. The Culture Division, in partnership with numerous partners (municipal facilities, public establishments, and non-profit actors) multiplies efforts in this direction.
Numerous cultural actions and heritage valorisation are implemented for adults and children, to everyone’s great pleasure.
