Fanny Bouyagui: IA-TERRA
Exhibition from 7 October 2023 to 7 January 2024
Over the last few years, Fanny Bouyagui, a visual and multimedia artist, has developed her own free approach to ceramics.
This new collection brings together a series of contrasting elements.
The meeting between artificial intelligence and the earth.
The random shapes formed by the artist’s hands embrace various characters created by a powerful program that generates images from language.
The association of words opens up infinite possibilities. Fanny Bouyagui wanders through this environment imagining hybrid characters, some of which are disturbing.
A series of contemporary deities inspired by the gods and goddesses of antiquity, looking far away into deformed and contorted bodies is composed of a dialogue between the artist and computing power.
Faces are also formed by this dialogue. They evoke the ceramics of the 17th century.
As a logical consequence, an augmented version will emerge. The characters come to life in video on their digitised porcelain stand.
Speaking to us directly but discretely, the characters tell a story… a dreamlike moment of intimacy, which is accessed via a QR code.
