From work to work, in the museum’s different spaces, interactive games and clues multiply so kids are immersed behind the scenes and discover the history of this atypical building.

DIGITAL LABELS TO HELP VISITORS DIVE INTO THE SCULPTOR’S STUDIO

The exact reconstitution of Henri Bouchard’s studio and his 900 sculptures is one of the high points of the expansion project. Without altering the immersive effect of this space, digital labels are used to identify and present all of the works on display in the studio and to learn more through a variety of themes.

FOUR EDUCATIONAL FILMS ABOUT SCULPTING TECHNIQUES

For the new section dedicated to sculpture materials and techniques, the museum has created four short animation films which explain the different steps of modelling, moulding, sculpting, and casting. This presentation was realised in collaboration with the Lyon Fine Arts Museum.

A VIDEO PROJECTION SPACE ON SCULPTURE IN HISTORY

Watching extracts from archive films, visitors discover the various difficulties in sculpture (production, editions, orders, exhibitions, censorship, etc.)

INTERACTIVE FOCUSES ON THE PANORAMA OF THE GRAND PLACE

Commissioned for the International Exposition in 1911, this spectacular panorama showing the inauguration of the new Roubaix city hall is striking for the visitor, both for its subject and for its dimensions. The digital system makes it possible to explore the details of this work, to understand its production as well as its astonishing rescue and restoration.
